Knebworth House, Gardens & Park

Knebworth House has been home to the Lytton family since 1490, and now has a gothic look with its turrets, cupolas and griffins. The interior of the house has a variety of styles, from the Jacobean Banqueting Hall to the gothic State Drawing Room. Notable visitors have included Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth I. The library is crowded with the published works of Edward Bulwer-Lytton, author of the words, `The pen is mightier than the sword´. 25 acres of gardens, include a formal rose garden, herb garden and maze and parkland with deer herds.
