Pennard Golf Club

Pennard’s cliff-top links, founded in 1908 on the dramatic landscape of the Gower Peninsula, boasts arresting views across to the beautiful sandy beaches. Parts of the course are well above sea level but it is a James Braid-designed links of quality, golfers sharing the 6,329 yards with ponies and cattle. The ruins of a 12th century Norman Castle stand guard over the par four seventh with the drive across a deep chasm from a high tee followed by a semi-blind approach shot to a sunken green guarded by dunes. A stern, hilly challenge with blind shots, awkward lies, and climbs but a course of rare class.
