West Surrey Golf Club

More than 400 yards were added to the Herbert Fowler-designed 1910 tree-lined parkland course in a tranquil and picturesque setting that now stretches to 6,259 yards after the superb greens were replaced and enlarged to USGA standards and fairway watering introduced in 2002. After a gentle uphill opening first hole with a wide fairway, the attractive front nine contains two testing par threes with stunning backdrops, a memorable downhill dogleg and demanding uphill par-fours. The course wends its way to the 16th tee 440 feet above sea level. The great 17th hole from an elevated tee to a downhill fairway and green 40 feet lower is followed by a fine sweeping downhill finishing hole. Fairways are wide enough for big hitters to take their chances without too much risk as there is no heather.

At traffic signals turn left onto Portsmouth Road - A3100 (signposted Godalming). At roundabout, turn right onto Church Road - A286 (signposted Midhurst) then immediatly turn left onto Station Lane (signposted Milford Station) At Milford Station, go over the crossing and carry on up about 800 yards.
