The Addington Golf Club

Despite its close proximity to London, The Addington offers remarkable seclusion. Designed by J F Abercrombie in 1914, now measuring 6,338 yards, par 71, it features six par threes, among them the 135-yard 11th, 230-yard 13th off the back tees that is rated one of the most picturesque and difficult inland short holes, and the 190-yard played over a ravine spanned by one of the rickety trestle bridges. Threads through thickets of mature pine and birch trees over heathland. Wonderful views of the city ten miles away can be seen from high tees, like the 14th. Has an old-world charm. Once blessed with 36 holes, one course is now occupied by houses.
