Hanbury Manor Golf & Country Club

Harry Vardon originally laid out a nine-hole course in the parkland of Hanbury Manor in the early 1900s but Jack Nicklaus jnr developed it and the official opening took place in 1991. The two nines are different, the newer opening half being more exposed while the inward holes are played through traditional parkland bounded by tall oak trees. Double fairways and water hazards add to the problems over the 6,660 yards. The 8th is the toughest, 425 yards with out-of-bounds right requiring an approach shot to an elevated green protected by a lake on the left with a grassy hollow on the right.
