Barton-on-Sea Golf Club
Barton-on-Sea, founded in 1897, is situated on the coastal cliff between Highcliffe and Milford-on-Sea. The 27 holes are a combination of the original Harry Colt design from 1932 and the newer holes designed by J. Hamilton Stutt. The course offers stunning views across the Solent to the Needles on the Isle of Wight, along to Old Harry Rocks at Swanage. Three loops of nine holes, the Needles, the Becton and the Stroller (named after the famous Olympic show jumping horse that was trained on the original farm), all start and finish close to the clubhouse. Sea breezes and six lakes add to the hazards.
