The Berkshire Golf Club (Blue)
Be aware of the tough start to the 6,260-yard par 71 Blue – a monster 217-yard par three to a distant green that lies beyond a heather-covered valley. Other memorable holes include the 199-yard tenth and the imposing 452-yard 16th – one of a testing group of five successive fours at the end of the round. Perhaps the Blue is not as tranquil as the Red as a road runs by holes 8, 9 and 10 while the 11th borders the A322. Both courses are maintained to the highest standards and the quality of the food makes the chore of donning a jacket for lunch well worthwhile.
