East Berkshire Golf Club

East Berks, created on a 100-acre desolate heathland site by Peter Paxton from Musselburgh in 1903, is a typical Berkshire-Surrey-Hampshire course featuring tree-lined fairways, gorse, heather, excellent greens and easy walking. Doglegs, carries across streams and small greens add to the challenge on a shortish course that measures 6,345 yards, par 69. The 505-yard 11th is the only par-five so rounds of less than four hours are guaranteed. Two short par fours ensure a carefree start but the longish final two holes are tricky to par. The signature hole is the 150-yard fifth with carry over rough and a ditch.

Catering: Visitors will always receive a warm welcome and can relax in the tranquil surroundings of our bar and lounge. Our Steward, Bill Boulter is a friendly, helpful member of our House team who maintains a well stocked cellar with a wide choice of very good wines at reasonable prices. We also boast a good selection of beers including the ever popular Fuller’s London Pride and Courage Best bitters. Our Chef (Leon Dewell) is beginning to establish himself a reputation for excellent cuisine. He insists on all fresh meat and produce with deep freezers almost becoming redundant. Those who sample his delights will agree just how good he is. Our waitressing team ensures the “front of house” part of our service lives up to the standard of the food prepared by our Chef.
