Set in stunning parkland on the outskirts of Dundee, Downfield is noted for the wildlife on the course with foxes, squirrels, deer, water fowl, ducks and buzzards very much in evidence and it also has over 100 species of tree. Water comes into play on no fewer than seven holes and there are five par fives and the 11th is one of the best. The original course was designed by James Braid but the course was altered in 1964 to make way for housing although some of the original holes are still in play but little has been lost of the quality of a superb course. An Open qualifying course.

Low Season (Jan to Apr & Oct to Dec) 18 holes £45, Day Ticket £50, Sunday (after 1pm) £30. For other packages, see website. The staff in the catering department supply a varied menu 12 months of the year to members and visitors. Full meals including breakfast, lunch, high-tea and dinner are on offer and portions are generous and quality is not sacrificed. Local Directions:	Simply follow the main A90 (Kingsway) Perth - Aberdeen road through Dundee. Downfield Golf Course is clearly signposted from the main road at the Junction for the A923. Do not follow any signs that just say 'Downfield'.
