Fast Rabbit Farm Gardens

Strawberry Valley, Dartmouth, Devon, TQ6 0NB

Three miles from Dartmouth, deep in the South Devon countryside, sits Fast Rabbit Farm Gardens. Back in 1989, the owners began to create a garden in a sheltered valley called Strawberry Valley and from those humble beginnings you will now find 42 acres of garden and nursery to explore in all seasons. The garden has been kept deliberately wild, allowing plants native to this part of the world room to blossom and you will find grassy banks a riot of wildflower colours. The river, stream, lake, ponds and waterfalls are the perfect place to take a stroll. The year starts in earnest in February where the snowdrops are in full flower and you can see the sea of yellow daffodil drifts and early flowering camellias. As May sets in, the garden’s rhododendrons are in full flower, with swathes and swathes of bluebells creating a gorgeous backdrop, and the summer’s blooms make taking a turn around this attraction on a sunny day a pure delight.

There are beautiful plants for sale in the Nursery, the Garden is beautiful and the people working there could also be described as beautiful. I am a member of the Royal Society of Botanical Artists and I only wish I were the artist in residence.

A stunning and peaceful haven. Well worth an hour or more of your time meandering along the many pathways and pausing to admire the views. The rhododendrons and azaleas were in full bloom and were amazing. Thank you for a peaceful morning.

It was a wonderful walk,so many flowers and the water lilies were magnificent. My best bit was the bird life. I saw green woodpecker, jays, songthrush, lesser spotted woodpecker and best of all kingfisher by the big lake.

The Camellias & Azaleas are quite spectacular at this time of year. Our group had a warm welcome with delicious cake and coffee. After our exploration of the gardens - a huge pond with many different fish to see. So many bluebells on the woodside walks - quite lovely; we were offered soup or sandwiches for lunch and then explored the polytunnels full of many different plants. We shall definitely be back again!

A truly beautiful but natural and unspoilt area featuring rhododendrons and azaleas, with wide grassy walk ways leading around a small lake and wooded area. Two poly tunnels offer super plants for sale. A lovely place for a walk or picnic at any time of the year, and inexpensive. What a joy!

Simon S

Lovely set of landscaped gardens, flowers, views etc. Also a whole host of insects (some huge dragonflies) to hunt.

A friendly welcome from the owners for whom this place is obviously a labour of love!

We probably only scratched the surface of the place, because we were already tired from walking there in the first place.

Not expensive to get in, so worth even the short time we spent there (about an hour and a half), but I'm sure you could easily while away a whole morning or afternoon.

Tea and cake available, nice, and again cheap, but that's all.

Perhaps more of an adult's place, but our children (9 and 12) were interested enough for the time we were there.
