Castle Drogo garden


Castle Drogo and its 1920s Lutyens garden is the highest owned by the National Trust at 823 metres and lies within shelter of trees and hedges. The terraced formal garden has an established rhododendron and magnolia collection, spring bulbs, summer and autumn flowering herbaceous borders, rose garden planted with hybrid teas and floribundas, shrub garden, complex paving with splendid geometric loops and a huge circular croquet lawn. Rhododendrons, Japanese cherries and acers can be found in the woodland spring garden. There are delightful varied walks through the River Teign Gorge.
