Renishaw Hall garden

The formal garden at Renishaw Hall, originally laid out in 1895 has undergone a remarkable restoration, enhancing the geometric design whilst retaining yew hedges, pyramids and antique statues. Mixed borders, rose and clematis gardens, and a host of exotic plants have been added. On either side of the formal garden there are more naturalistic plantings with unusual shrubs, specimen trees and towering rambling roses. East of the garden, holly and camellia avenues lead to paths through mature woodland, down to the lakes, an important nesting and resting site for resident and migrating birds. One of the very few if not the only Stately Home and Garden to have a producing vineyard. Originally planted in 1973, the vineyard now has around 1500 vines in three different varieties. Don´t miss the ´Childrens Garden´ which opened in 2007.
