Stowe Landscape Gardens

Stowe Landscape Gardens is an extraordinary, living, breathing work of art. With its ornamental lakes, glorious open spaces, wooded valleys and adorned with over 40 monument temples in all sizes and styles from Gothic to Classical, this magnificent landscape park is one of the supreme creations of the Georgian era. Given to the National Trust in 1989, the gardens, Stowe House (opened to the public by Stowe House Preservation Trust) and the surrounding 750 acres of parkland have been undergoing an ambitious programme of restoration to recapture their former unparalleled magnificence.
