A long drive lined with horse chestnuts leads you to Dowthorpe Hall, a late Georgian house, family home to the Holtbys for over 100 years. A warm welcome awaits you, with afternoon tea or a complementary drink. John is a farmer and a Chartered Surveyor, and Caroline is a professional cook and a garden designer. The bedrooms comprise of, one twin with antique mahogany beds, one double with a canopied bed and a single. Dinner is served in a candlelit dining room. All the meat, game and fish are locally sourced and the vegetables come from the garden.Breakfast is served in the Oak Room overlooking the garden, with homegrown fruit, cereals and yoghurt, followed by a Full English, John makes the marmalade and Caroline the jams. If you have never been to the East Riding of Yorkshire, this is the perfect place to stay to explore this unknown jewel in the Yorkshire crown.

Local directions: A165 Hull to Bridlington Road, 1 mile south of Skirlaugh right hand side, white railings at bottom of long drive. We are the big house up the drive, Dowthorpe Hall. Sat Nav does not work for our house, do not turn off the A165.
