Known as the ‘Home of Racing’, Newmarket lives and breathes the sport. There are two racecourses in the town; the Rowley Mile hosts the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas in the spring, and further championship races and valuable handicaps in the autumn. For many, the Flat season really kicks-off with Newmarket’s Craven meeting – when Classic trials are staged. The July Course takes over in the summer with a popular three-day meeting in July, The July Festival, and evening fixtures featuring live music from some of the biggest names in pop (Newmarket Nights). Children under 18 are free of charge on all racedays execpt Newmarket Nights, where a limited number of tickets are available before being charged full adult price.
