Anglesey Sea Zoo

Some aquariums will see the kids rushing through them in a matter of minutes and at the end of it you feel you have spent an awful lot of money. At the Angelsey Sea Zoo, however, they’ve come up with a raft of ways to engage children in what they are seeing around them. So in the No Bone Zone (who doesn’t love that name?) they’ll learn what it’s like to be an invertebrate, in the lobster hatchery and the seahorse nursery there’s a focus on conservation and The Seven Sisters Shipwreck creates a great atmosphere with the sounds of waves crashing about your ears. Of course, there’s the shark pools to explore too plus a kelp forest full of giant fish, virtual scuba diving and live diving displays. The café is very popular, serving excellent food, and there’s also a nice pirate’s playground outside with bouncy castle, crazy golf, swamp boats and a cannon blaster ride. All, of course, with beautiful shoreline views of Snowdonia as backdrop.
