North East Scotland is one of the hidden gems of the UK, an area redolent with history and renowned for its friendly welcome. It’s a land of mountain and glen, open moorland, deep forests, lochs and rolling farmland; dotted with castles, cut by fast flowing rivers and hosting half the distilleries in Scotland. Hidden away in the hills of the old Scottish County of Banffshire is the Keith & Dufftown Railway. Visit the volunteer run “Whisky Line” and enjoy a 22 mile round trip through this quiet and enchanting landscape. Sit back, relax and re-live the days of the country branch line, in our comfortable Diesel Multiple Units dating from the 1960’s. Break your journey to take lunch in our licensed restaurant at Dufftown or visit a local distillery. Car and coach parking is available at the station at Keith Town and Dufftown, with disabled access and full facilities at both stations. Group bookings welcome and charter trains available for hire on non running days. Further details at www.keith-dufftown-railway.co.uk
