The British Library
On display in The British Library are hundreds of items from the world´s greatest collection of books, manuscripts, music, stamps, sound recordings and maps. The Library´s collections span over three millennia and contain items from all continents of the world. The John Ritblat Gallery is home to a permanent exhibition of over 200 of the Library´s Treasures. It includes documents, which made and recorded history, sacred texts from the world´s religions, masterpieces of illumination, landmarks of printing, great works of literature and music and major advances in science and mapmaking. There is also an extensive display of philatelic material, which is probably the best permanent display of stamps in the world.
