Where is Trafalgar Tavern located?
The Trafalgar Tavern is located in the historical market town of Greenwich, south east London. Built in 1837, this Grade-II listed property has prided itself on accommodating large and small parties in a comfortable and superior manner.
It was built on the sight of the eighteenth century Old George Tavern, designed by the architect Joseph Kay (1775 - 1847).
The Trafalgar Tavern is the last survivor of the grand riverside establishments in Greenwich and Blackwall, which during the nineteenth century were the favoured places of resort for ‘'dining down the river'', and justly famed for their celebrity whitebait dinners.
The elegant balconies and large windows presented pleasure-seeking Londoners with an ever-changing panorama of the River Thames
