The Temple of Minerva is a replica of a Roman temple first used as the City's exhibit at the British Empire Exhibition in Wembley 1924. It was then rebuilt in the Botanical Gardens and in 2017 it was licensed for civil ceremonies. This unique venue sits within 9 and a half acres of beautiful gardens.

What makes The Temple of Minerva a unique wedding venue?

The Temple of Minerva is a hidden gem in Bath and is a perfect mix for an indoor and outdoor wedding. For smaller weddings the Temple and adjacent lawn will be plenty of space. For larger all day weddings the lower lawn can be used to set up a teepee or marquee for a dinner and dance. Because every couple is unique so are the weddings, bespoke and tailor made. Couples can make use of the list of recommended suppliers or bring their own. There is no corkage charge and well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome to be part of the celebrations.

What is a typical wedding like at The Temple of Minerva?

Brides or partners can choose to take a short walk up to the Temple or take the longer walk through the gardens and over the pond while their partner waits at the Temple and catches their first glimpse of them. After the ceremony, the newlyweds will emerge from the doors of the Temple into the gardens to a shower of real flower petal confetti and lead their guests to the lawn for a drinks reception. The back drop of the Gardens and Moon gates make a perfect photo opportunity.

What Wedding Packages does The Temple of Minerva offer?

Packages are available for smaller weekday intimate ceremonies and also during the winter months. Whichever package is chosen the team at Heritage Park Weddings will ensure that the couple can still have a bespoke wedding of their dreams.

What Extra facilities does The Temple of Minerva have to assist couples to have the perfect day?

The Temple of Minerva has under floor heating so is cosy during the colder months. There is a list of hire items available from a Capri tent to glassware, so the couple have one less thing to organise. With every wedding booking 2 parking spaces are allocated for the day with the option of booking more for a fee. There is one accessible toilet in the Temple and a small kitchen area.

Where is The Temple of Minerva located?

The Temple of Minerva is located at the top of the Botanical Gardens in Royal Victoria Park. The best entrance to use to get into the park is the entrance at the top of Park Lane, just before Weston Road. The park has a one-way system in operation and using this entrance is the quickest way to get to the Temple of Minerva. Royal Victoria Park is well signposted around Bath.

We had the perfect wedding day at the Temple of Minerva, we couldn't have asked for more! We wanted something simple and relaxed but special and that's what we got. Sectioning off the part of the Botanical Gardens by the temple works so well and the magnolia blossoms are the prettiest background ever!

Our venue (Bath botanic gardens) was simply beautiful. We got married in the autumn and the colours of the trees made for excellent wedding photos. A truly magical wedding venue and very unique when compared to a standard hotel wedding.

The Temple of Minerva was fabulous surrounded by the botanical gardens. The service that was provided before, during and after our ceremony was incredible. We couldn't believe the cost as it was just such good value, truly, nothing around could beat it. Truly, the most amazing venue.
