Overview

A stunning Georgian Country House Hotel just outside Tavistock on the Devon/Cornwall border, The Horn of Plenty is regarded as one of Devon's most beautiful and covetted wedding venues. Built in 1860, the hotel has 16 bedrooms and can accommodate weddings from 2 to 95 guests in the Main House, or 150 in a marquee.

What makes The Horn of Plenty a unique wedding venue?

* Stunning views, overlooking the Tamar Valley * Outdoor wedding ceremonies * Bespoke wedding menu * Award winning food * Flexible options - your day, your way.  * Experienced weddings team to help create and deliver your perfect day.

What is a typical wedding like at The Horn of Plenty?

There's no such thing as a typical wedding.... it's your day, so the team will work with you to make sure it's all about you. On sunny days an outdoor wedding might be followed by live music on the lawn or traditional lawn games. On cooler days enjoy log fires and a cosy, comfy ambience. Either way, your wedding breakfast will be a highlight of the day. In the evening choose a band, a DJ and/or maybe a casino. Firework displays are a wonderful addition, or for a lower cost option, sparklers make a great photo opportunity!

What Wedding Packages does The Horn of Plenty offer?

Whether it's a small intimate wedding, a simple afternoon wedding, or a bigger, exclusive use affair, The Horn of Plenty prides itself on bespoke weddings. Rather than providing packages, the team would prefer to chat to you, find out what you are looking for, and discuss options with you. Contact their wedding team who will happily chat through your plans and provide you with a personalised cost estimate.

The hugely experienced team will go above and beyond to ensure that your day runs perfectly, and exceeds your hopes and dreams.

What Extra facilities does The Horn of Plenty have to assist couples to have the perfect day?

* Optional exclusive use * Choice of 4 rooms licensed for Civil Ceremonies * Conservatory restaurant with floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the stunning Tamar Valley * 5 acres of lovely grounds, ideal for your wedding photos * 16 bedrooms, most with balconies * 3 public rooms *Restaurant leads onto extensive terraces with stunning views

We had the most wonderful wedding, just the perfect day, and this was in very large part down to the fabulous venue we had and your amazing team taking such good care of us - everything was just magical and we can't thank you all enough. The whole team was just brilliant, our heartfelt thanks to everyone, but especially big thanks to Shirna for being an absolute superstar all day long and managing my never ending random requests so efficiently. Everything ran so smoothly and all of our guests adored the hotel, especially those lucky enough to stay overnight, we had many compliments.

Mr & MrsG

The whole experience was everything we'd dreamed of. We don't have a bad word to say. We had a perfect day! All of our guests loved it. Beautiful location, really special food and the wedding team were always happy to help. They even catered for a few requests we had even though it wasn't what they'd usually do. Shirna deserves a special mention for all her help. Thank you all at The Horn Of Plenty

Arrival information & directions

Address: Gulworthy, Tavistock, Devon, TavistockPL19 8JD, United Kingdom

From Plymouth, take the A386 north to Tavistock via Yelverton, and turn left onto the A390 towards Liskeard/Callington. After 3 miles turn right at Gulworthy Cross and follow signs for The Horn of Plenty.

Please do not follow SatNav if coming from Plymouth, as it will take you down a very steep and narrow country lane.  Much easier to come via Yelverton and Tavistock.
