Springkell

We are now finding the time to write to you a month or so after the wedding as we were so elated and on a high we found it difficult to put into words how thankful we were to you all. From the beginning of the planning to the very end we were always pleased with the service that we received from James, Fiona and all at Springkell. We wanted our wedding to be very personal, we were always granted permission to tailor our wedding to the way we desired as I can see that this is also important to Springkell that bride and grooms have the wedding they choose - personal and original. This made our wedding planning a joy for my husband and I and we treasured this experience of designing our day around such a magnificent venue. James, Fiona and staff were always so friendly and professional whenever we made contact during the planning stage. The day before was a real highlight for our guests and for us as we were able to mingle with our guests and get settled into the house. This allowed all of the wedding party to relax and helped with some nerves, again the service we received could not have been more accommodating. We played Highland games and clay pigeon shooting which allowed our guests to enjoy some competitive fun. James was a true host and we will cherish the memories out in the garden forever. In the evening the BBQ was delicious and we have had many comments to say how much they enjoyed the food from many guests - by that point in the night. The quality of food was amazing and catered for all dietary requirements throughout the two days. The wedding day itself was like a dream come true! However, I am aware that it was due to all the hard work and effort of Fiona, Jill, James and family, chefs and staff. Chris has mentioned that anything he had asked for was promptly carried out before the ceremony. I am so heartened that I married my best friend in such a beautiful, grand setting. Many of our friends and family have stated it was the best wedding they have to been as I reiterate I know this has to do with the hard work and ethos of Springkell and sure somehow, they managed to make the sun come out for us as it's a magical place.

My wife and I along with some friends and family members recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at Springkell. We renewed our wedding vows with a formal ceremony. James was very accommodating of our needs and provided Fiona to assist in the planning. Fiona did an outstanding job and was instrumental in booking every vendor for our celebration - piper, makeup, hair, musicians, DJ, menu selections, cake, flowers, photographer and videographer. When we began the planning process we were a bit apprehensive as we live in the United States. Fiona guided us through the entire process with emails and phone calls. We could not have been happier with the outcome. James, Fiona and staff were every bit as polite and pleasant in person as they had been on the phone and through email. Springkell is a beautiful home built in 1734 that has been lovingly restored by James Johnson-Ferguson. The house has been in his family for several generations. The grounds are historic and beautiful with lush and varied plants and trees. There are expansive gardens, secluded gardens, walking trails and a mini highland games. The atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. The food was outstanding and was supplied by Springkell's own Chefs. The staff were friendly and attentive, not stuffy or overly formal. Our guests, most of whom have travelled extensively, all thought the food was fantastic. We and our guests had a wonderful time celebrating. Most of our guests visited other places in the UK during this time and said that Springkell was the highlight of their trip. To James, Fiona and staff - a heartfelt "thank you" for making our time at Springkell memorable. In my wife's words, "our time at Springkell was magical" Springkell is a beautiful place and we highly recommend it for a wedding, celebration, family reunion or get away.

We recently held our wedding at Springkell. From the initial arrangements with them in January through to the wedding itself on the 12th November, the staff there couldn't have been more helpful. Not only did they arrange everything for us with amazing suppliers, they kept us fully informed throughout and on track with our budget. On arriving the day before our wedding, Steve was there to greet us, and throughout the whole 2 days, he was there for anything we needed, no matter how big or small. As our guests began to arrive, the staff were fantastic in making sure they were comfortable, and ensuring the luggage was delivered to the correct room. The rooms were all amazing, each done in their own individual style. Our bridal suite was simply stunning. As we had exclusive use of the venue, it felt very much like home, and we had no issues with leaving our doors unlocked. It was our own little Downton Abbey. The food is superb, and they will cater for any dietary intolerances or allergies. For the wedding room and ballroom preparations, the staff were more than happy to assist and give advice, and go out of their way to make sure it was perfect. James, Fiona, Jill, Steve, Terence and the rest of the staff you are all truly fantastic

Springkell was the first venue we visited when looking for somewhere to get married and we soon realised it was perfect for us. As is clear from photos - Springkell House is stunning. The grounds and exteriors provide varied photo opportunities, and the rooms are beautiful. The brilliant natural atmosphere of the house meant that a few personal touches from our decorations were all we needed to make the space our own. A highlight for us were the lounges, giving our guests the opportunity to relax and chat with a drink, choosing to move to and from the music and dancing of the main room as and when they liked. This meant that each of our guests got to come together and celebrate in a way that made them feel comfortable. James, Fiona and Jill were thoughtful and attentive throughout our engagement, whenever we had questions or needed to visit the house. On our wedding day, Jill was invaluable - her professionalism and humour make her such a calming presence.

We got married at Springkell recently, a fantastic few days with friends and family that passed much too quickly. It was great to have use of the whole house, making everyone feel much more at home. During our stay the meals were delicious, with plenty to eat and catering for those with particular dietary needs. Jill and James were always on hand to help out in any way making sure that everything went smoothly. Beforehand when doing the months of organising, Fiona was prompt to answer our many emails and always happy to find a solution that suited both ends. We would certainly recommend this stunning venue with beautiful grounds as a wedding location to remember.

On the 18th October I was privileged enough to hold my wedding at Springkell. There are no words to describe how special a day it was for us and all our guests. We have had nothing but very positive feedback from everyone and there are no words that I can use that will be enough to express our gratitude to James, Rachel, Terence and the other members of staff who made our day the best ever! Huge thanks also to Steve and Fiona who kept me calm and helped with everything. Anyone looking for a wedding venue, Springkell ticks every box.

Thank you so much for everything in the build-up to and of course on the weekend of our wedding. We had a really wonderful weekend, it was perfect. All our guests had a fabulous time and especially those staying in the house and cottages, they really loved the relaxed experience of the weekend. You looked after us so well on the day and put up with all our questions/visits in the lead-up so thank you. It's a beautiful house and grounds and we are so glad we chose Springkell for our wedding!

Our wedding can be summed up in one word.... PERFECT! Nothing was too much trouble for any of the Springkell team and a big thank you has to go to James, Fiona and Jill for all their hard work and guidance throughout the whole wedding and during the planning process. I wish we could do it all again as it was just the best day ever. Beautiful venue, the most delicious food and just an amazing day. Thank you again so much for the best day ever.
