Upton House & Gardens

Explore the Beautiful Upton House and Gardens Upton House is an impressive mansion built in the 17th century on an earlier site, and was remodelled in the 1920s by the 2nd Viscount Bearsted, son of the founder of Shell Oil. He adapted the building to house his great collections. Amongst the outstanding collection of English and Old Master paintings are works by Hogarth, Raeburn, Stubbs, El Greco, Bosch, Metsu, Canaletto and Breugel. The porcelain collection includes fine examples of SÅvres, Worcester and figures by Bow, Chelsea and Derby. Also a set of 17th century Brussels tapestries.
