Overview

The Willowsmere was built around 1860 as an imposing Lakeland family residence, it has been tastefully restored and renovated to a high standard and includes the luxuries that you would expect if staying in a fine English hotel. The Willowsmere has a large off road car park and is centrally located; 8 minutes walk from Windermere centre and train station and 5 minutes walk from the tranquil shores of Lake Windermere.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at The Willowsmere?

The guesthouse has 13 en-suite bedrooms all recently refurbished including new luxury pocket sprung beds and those little extras that make your stay a pleasant and relaxing one. There are 2 lounges for guests use and a large landscaped secluded garden where you can enjoy a drink from the well-stocked cellar.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Windermere area?

Windermere is the ideal location for a break in the Lake District because there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area, including walks, shoping, restaurants, guided tours, visitor attractions, golf and of course Lake Windermere, which is only a 10-minute walk from The Willowsmere. The spectacular view of Orrest Head is a must, and it can be reached in just a 15 minute walk from The Willowsmere.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and breakfasts at The Willowsmere are intended to set you up for a busy day exploring this beautiful area! All of the breakfasts are prepared to order using only the finest locally available ingredients.  Breakfast is served from 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. in the Dining Room.

Reviews

As part of a motorbike tour around the area, my friend and I stayed at the Willowsmere hotel. We found it to be a very welcoming hotel, our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious and the staff friendly. We will definitely be coming back - either as part of another bike tour or with my wife for a quiet retreat.

Mother & daughter arrived in Windermere late afternoon 20th June 2013 not optimistic about finding a room for one night, liked the outside look of this place and there was one twin room en-suite. Everything is lovingly cared for, spotless, with super hands on care buy owner, 1st class breakfast.

Best B&B ever stayed in, rooms were beautiful, bathroom in particular was of an excellent standard. Proprietor was very helpful with local knowledge. Breakfast was lovely. Nice setting too.
