Squire Farm is a small working farm of grass and woodland with two completely unique and interesting cottages. The smaller Xidong for two is decorated in an Japanese style with an enclosed garden of stone and terraces and a hot tub. The larger Squire Cottage, which sleeps four is more traditional and features an open fireplace in a huge inglenook.
What makes a stay at The Squire Farm Cottages unique?
Xidong is a little patch of Oriental romance in the remote and peaceful South Shropshire Hills. It's unexpected quirkiness and feeling of tranquility is topped off with the hot tub, from where you can sip champagne and gaze at the stars.
Squire Cottage is unusual in a quite different way. It has all it's oak beams showing - some old, some newer - and wood floors throughout. Upstairs there is some very special decoration, which you will never forget. The overriding feature of the cottage is it's beautiful fireplace downstairs and the impressive chimney breast upstairs.

Xidong has one bedroom with a double bed. A cloakroom with sink and toilet and a wet room with shower and basin.
Squire Cottage has one double bedroom and one twin room, both with basins. There is a bathroom upstairs with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. There is a cloakroom downstairs with another toilet and small hand basin.
What can guests enjoy when staying in the Bucknell area?
The Redlake Valley offers numerous footpaths for walking through un-spoilt countryside. Nearby are forestry and woods with cycling tracks and hill climbs. Bucknell offers two pubs, a post office, a village shop and a train station. A little further afield is Ludlow with its half-timbered houses, castle and some great shops. Three miles west is Offa's Dyke for long walks, there are numerous castles, houses, gardens, farms, and other fascinating properties to visit.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
The area is renowned for it's excellent restaurants. Closest to hand is the Baron of Beef in Bucknell, fish and chips in Leintwardine, take-aways in Knighton; two pubs in Clun and The Crown in Clunton; all these are within 7 miles of Squire Farm.
