Overview

Wake up in a light and airy bedroom overlooking Wiltshire gardens of ancient yews, sweet-smelling wisteria and antique roses, sip a morning cuppa as you dress leisurely and then head downstairs to kick start the day with breakfast on the lavender-lined patio or in the sun-drenched dining room. Welcome to your holiday at The Old Rectory in Coulston, Wiltshire. Tucked away between Devizes and Westbury, this luxurious B&B is all about those little touches so eBeyond the B&B, it's an easy drive to Stonehenge, the Avebury Stone Circles, Longleat House and the Georgian splendour of Bath.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at The Old Rectory Wiltshire?

On the first floor is the elegant Green Bedroom. It has high ceilings and a stunning view of the garden. The Red Room has a private bathroom with a bath and a shower on its own floor. It is spacious, has sloped ceilings with a beautiful warm and relaxed feel. The two very comfortable twin beds can be combined into a double bed of Super King Size. The room is also suitable as a family room, with a smaller adjacent bedroom which allows 1 adult or 2 children to be accommodated during a trip. The light and elegant living room is a place to sit back and relax with a newspaper, a book or a magazine and a nice cup of coffee or tea.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Westbury area?

The Old Rectory Wiltshire B&B Accom#modation is only a 1/2-hour train ride from London and is situated just south of Devizes. It's a perfect base for exploring South West England. Excellent walking, cycling, golf and riding on the doorstep and so much more to see and do in the nearby area.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

You should expect homemade smoothies for brekkie with your fresh organic Wilshire bacon, free-range eggs and field mushrooms. Rooms are lovingly decorated with pretty florals and stripped wooden floors with jugs of seasonal blooms and baskets of home-made biscuits setting a welcoming tone.

Reviews

I always really look forward to staying at the Old Rectory: it's an incredibly beautiful home, with a comfortable lounge (complete with log fire) that guests are encouraged to use, and well-appointed bedrooms. The best thing about it is the very warm welcome visitors receive from Helle and David: a pot of tea and piece of home-made cake on arrival, and numerous thoughtful touches like fresh flowers in the bedroom and a very well-stocked hospitality tray. Breakfast is always delicious, with real range, quality and variety - even for vegetarians like me! The Old Rectory is in a very quiet village location, but conveniently close to a couple of nice pubs/restaurants, and Devizes is only a short drive away. As always, I've already booked my next visit!
