Lovingly presented The Old Granary is a truly romantic retreat which still retains many of its original features. Step through the doorway into a sumptous interior with character and personal styling with original wooden beams, electric stove. Also a wonderful private hot tub for guests to use. Set on the edge of the Peak District National Park, there is plenty to see and do from the doorstep. Guests have full access to the private 7 seater Jacuzzi within the patio area and the beautiful gardens and private lawn area overlooking rural uninterrupted far reaching views. A welcome pack is provided of homemade Victoria Sponge Cake, artisan bread, butter, wine, chocolates, 6 free range eggs, all kitchen essentials, milk, tea, coffee, sugar.
What is the capacity for The Old Granary & Shepherd's Hut?
The Old Granary accommodates up to 6 people plus a travel cot, laid out over 3 bedrooms, all with King-Sized beds, 2 en-suite with one with a separate bathroom. Their new Shepherds Hut will be available from early 2024 and will be available to rent either with the barn or on its own.
What can guests enjoy when staying in the Matlock area?
Set on the edge of the Peak District National Park, there is plenty to see and do from the doorstep, with many walking and cycle trails. Ogston Reservoir is just 2.5 miles away where guests can enjoy water sports, bird watching and fishing. Both Matlock and Matlock Bath with its cable car ride to Abraham Heights is only 4 miles, where you can tour the Mining Museum or walk alongside the River Derwent. Why not take a drive to Crich Tramway Museum, Chatsworth House, Bakewell or Haddon Hall which is all well worth a visit. The historical town of Chesterfield is around a 20-minute drive with its crooked spire and lively market.

There are two excellent pubs, just over a mile away from The Old Granary, serving food daily from 12 noon, The White Hart at Moorwood Moor and The Bluebell at South Wingfield.
