The Dovecote Barns is an environmental conversion of historic 18th century farm barns. Using only renewable energy you can enjoy year-round five-star comfort. Although equally suitable for couples, families and friends getting together, it is a popular venue for three generation family groups, allowing group dining and socialising for up to 12 in the largest barn whilst the smallest barn is mobility rated. Every bedroom is en-suite with either a bath/shower or wet room / shower room. On arrival there is a welcome basket of Yorkshire produce, homemade bread and choice of wine. There is a complimentary grocery unpacking service to allow you to settle straight into your stay and relax. Electric car charging on offer.

Every bedroom is en-suite and 6 of 10 bedrooms across the site can be either zip-linked super-kings or split into twin beds. This provides flexibility for couples, families and groups. Group dining for up to 12 is catered for the the 6 person barn and 10 in the 8 person barn. Off-road private parking is available.
The Irishman's Cottage allows one well behaved small dog to stay for a small additional charge.
What can guests enjoy when staying in the York area?
Guests are guaranteed a restful break in this quiet peaceful village. It is still a working arable farm and walks from the door will either bring you along the riverbank to the 17th century pub or through the fields to the wood where there is wild deer. The area is great for cycling to nearby pubs and restaurants, or you can catch the late night return bus from York city center if you fancy exploring its medieval streets, bars and restaurants. Easy access to the main link routes to all parts of Yorkshire allow you to fully explore from Coast to Dales all that the county has to offer.
Where can guests enjoy food and drink?
On booking, a list of nearby pubs and eateries as well as local attractions is supplied. These include York Marina to sit out by the river and watch the boats passing in the sunshine as well as offerings in both historic Cawood (seat of Cardinal Wolsey) and Riccall and Escrick. Italian, Gourmet Pubs and Thai are amongst those on offer locally. If guests do not want to venture out, home delivery shopping can be unpacked prior to their arrival and also homemade ready meals can be ordered. The barns are superbly equipped for fine dining, including sets of chef knives!
