Suffolk Retreats offers an entirely new approach to wedding planning giving you complete flexibility & control over exactly what you want on your special day.
Most venues request that you use their own caterers, their own bar staff and buy drinks at bar prices -Suffolk Retreats does not.
Most venues ask you to finish by midnight – Suffolk Retreats does not. Most venues don't want you on site until the wedding day but here you can arrive the day before to get everything ready and leave the following day. Giving you the perfect opportunity to have exactly what you want for a day both you and your guests will never forget.
What is a typical wedding like at Suffolk Retreats?
Complete wedding packages offering use of traditional marquee, with ivory wall and roof linings. Use of Black and White dance floor. There is elegant chandelier lighting with dimmer switches. Tables that seat 8-10 guests with gold banqueting chairs are also provided for the number of guests attending. A wooden bar area & red carpet entrance give a beautiful finishing touch.
Set behind a small lake for wonderful photo opportunities.
Also includied use of 4* gold accommodation for up to 24 guests in a combination of The Granary which sleeps up to 10 guests / 3 luxury Mongolian yurts and Bridal room which has view across the small lake
What Wedding Packages does Suffolk Retreats offer?
There is no typical wedding at Suffolk Retreats as each couple has their own ideas about what is their perfect day, and the aim here to help you achieve your dreams whatever they may be.
You can arrive in a vintage car, a horse and cart, or by helicopter.
You can have Pimm's on the lawn, an afternoon tea style wedding, hog roast, fish and chips, pizza, or caterers to provide a 3 course lunch.
You can have a brass band, a disco, air displays, fireworks, bouncy castes and more. You are completely free to organise whatever you want to make your day unique.
What Extra facilities does Suffolk Retreats have to assist couples to have the perfect day?
As an exclusive use wedding venue, only you and your wedding group will be on site for the entirely of your stay.
You can arrive the day before to get the marquee decorated exactly as you require and have time to relax with close family before the special day. Make use of the hot tub. use of extensive games room, that offers table tennis table, darts, pool table, air hockey and lots more.
Why not get friends and close family to stay the day after too and enjoy a BBQ with the newly wed bride and groom.
Where is Suffolk Retreats located?
Whilst Suffolk Retreats is situated in a wonderful countryside setting, it is easily accessible, being just over an hour from London, and 45 minutes from Stanstead Airport. The site is also only just over 30 minutes' drive from the historic city of Cambridge with cathedral and punting on the River Cam, and Newmarket with its famous Race course is even closer. In the other direction of the property just 30 minutes or so drive is the market town of Bury St Edmunds and the smallest town of Clare is just 5 minutes' drive away, known for its tea shops, antique shops and traditional local pubs.

Suffolk Retreats also offers use of large 9 persons Canadian hot tub, which is situated just outside of the main accommodation together with sauna and relaxation area. The perfect place to unwind the night before your wedding. Use of BBQ also included.
The yurts and The Granary are fully equipped for all your self catering needs, and all of the major supermarkets will deliver food and drinks to your door.
There is also a highly recommended pub a few minutes' drive (10-15 minute walk) and lots of attractions nearby.
