Stream House dates from 1800, originally 3 cottages, reputedly used by smugglers in days gone by. The house is full of character and lovingly renovated to provide every modern comfort. The huge deep baths are popular with guests, whilst all rooms also have separate powerful showers. Choose from a varied breakfast menu all freshly cooked to order, with vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options on request. Stream House has 3 rooms, 2 double and one super king which can also be made into a twin room on request. All rooms are en-suite with stunning views of the garden and/or the countryside beyond. Some rooms have exceptionally large bathrooms. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, including speciality teas and complimentary biscuits. There is a radio, flat screen TV and hairdryer. What can guests enjoy when staying in the Fairlight area?
Hastings is a short drive from Stream House with its historical old town full of cobbled streets, hidden alleyways and ancient houses. The old town has a multitude of interesting shops, a magnet for antique seekers and art lovers or, simply those wanting a delicious afternoon tea or fantastic fish and chips! The tall black net drying huts are a unique feature and fresh fish is landed daily by the local fishing fleet. There are restaurants and traditional English pubs and probably the best crazy golf in the UK! Take the cliff railway to the castle or smugglers caves, for outstanding views of the beach, or, stroll along the seafront, calling in the museums and art gallery along the way.

There are 3 excellent pubs serving good food within 5 minutes of the house and others within easy distance. Fairlight has its own tearoom on the nearby scenic Firehills. The Red Pig provides delicious lunches and home-made cakes, from a quirky trailer on nearby Winchelsea Beach. Hastings and Rye are both a ten minute drive, with a large selection of places to eat to suit all budgets and preferences. Whether it be gourmet burgers, fish and chips or top quality restaurants serving locally sourced food, there is something for everyone.

Stream House is also close to the town of Rye, surely the most picturesque town in the UK, almost suspended in time with its cobbled streets and medieval buildings. The town of Winchelsea is also well worth a visit, along with the golden sands and dunes at Camber. Stream House is an ideal base for touring Sussex and Kent with easy access to Canterbury Cathedral and many famous gardens and castles. A trip to London is easily achievable for a contrasting day out.
