Overview

South Lodge sits amongst 93 acres of parkland, overlooking the area of outstanding natural beauty of the South Downs. As well as the location, South Lodge provides the perfect location for overnight breaks, spa days, events and weddings.

What makes a stay at South Lodge unique?

Amongst the vast grounds, there are 260 varieties of rhododendrons, camellias and azaleas which, when in bloom, present a magnificent sea of colour. There are eighty nine furnished rooms, providing attention to detail and homely charm and wherever you turn you'll be wowed by stunning views over the South Downs. When it comes to meal times, the 2 AA Rosette award-winning Camellia Restaurant, specialises in traditional English cuisine to entice and satisfy all palettes, and Botanica, located in The Spa offers a relaxed environment to enjoy a Mediterranean inspired menu with a plethora of plant-based plates including a standout dish, the undeniably delicious Wasted Burger, made entirely from the pulp from the freshly prepared morning’s juices.

The Spa at South Lodge opened in March 2019 and offers stunning facilities for hotel residents, spa members and spa day guests to enjoy including; 22m x 10m indoor infinity edge pool, 18m long natural heated wild swimming pool, outdoor vitality hydrotherapy pool, infused sauna, marble lined salt steam, jasmine herbal steam room, bucket shower, 200m² gym, a dedicated spin studio with 'Group Cycle' equipment, a holistic studio, 14 nature themed treatment rooms, pre and post treatment deep relaxation suite, a double treatment suite linked to a Rasul suite, and the Ridgeview Beauty Bar offering manicures and pedicures.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at South Lodge?

South Lodge has 84 bedrooms, with a mixture of suites, and traditional style bedrooms, as well as a beautiful 4 bedroom private cottage located in the grounds. The suites and rooms at South Lodge are an irresistible fusion of the past and present. Every room is individually styled and designed so that no two are the same, with gorgeous soft furnishings, plump cushions and quirky furniture.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Horsham area?

If you are out and about on the tourist trail, Sussex has many renowned attractions like Petworth House, Wakehurst Place and Brighton Pavilion to explore, if you're look to experience something slightly unique why not visit Ridegview Wine estate, a wonderful family-run business located only a short drive from South Lodge, tickets for tours and tastings can be arranged with the reception, so you can discover how their vineyard in Ditchling Common creates a wonderful selection of award-winning wines.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

With two restaurants, alfresco dining, The Billiard Bar, lounges and the terrace for coffee or afternoon tea, and private dining rooms open to residents and non-residents alike there's a dining experience and atmosphere for every occasion. The fine dining restaurant The Camellia is the perfect setting for dinner, Sunday lunch, or your breakfast. If you're looking for something a bit more relaxed, try Botanica, located in The Spa, where you can enjoy brunch, all day dinning and dinner.
