Overview

Noake Farmhouse is a peaceful B&B in the beautiful Dorset countryside. It is relaxed, dog friendly with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. There are plenty of great places to eat nearby and the B&B is not far from the Jurassic Coast. The local village is a two mile walk or drive away with a village shop and great pub.

What makes a stay at Noake Farmhouse unique?

Noake Farmhouse is on a small working farm. Depending on the time of year you may see lambs and are likely to meet some of the pet sheep in the field by the garden. Guests with all dietary requirements are welcome - whether vegan, veggie, coeliac or other, any food requirements can be catered for. Local breakfast ingredients are used where at all possible. Dogs (and other pets!) are very welcome, there are two resident sheep dogs and one cocker spaniel at the farm. The garden is south facing and wonderful for a glass of wine in the evening sun.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at Noake Farmhouse?

Noake Farmhouse has two double rooms with a large shared bathroom containing free standing bath and separate shower. The rooms are let so that guests can specify they do not want to share the bathroom with other guests, in which case the second bedroom will not be let during their stay. If guests do not mind sharing the bathroom, the second bedroom may be let separately, this is a slightly lower cost option. Alternatively, guests travelling with friends or family can book both rooms at the lower cost and share the bathroom between them. Each room has a TV, tea, coffee and WiFi. Downstairs, there is a large, comfy private sitting room and guest dining room with small fridge.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Dorchester area?

Buckland Newton is a pretty village with lots of footpaths and bridleways. The nearby Cerne Valley is worth a visit to see the Cerne Giant on the hill. Dorchester is about a 20 minute drive away and has lots of restaurants and cafes, as well as shopping and cinemas. The pretty Abbey town of Sherborne is about 20 minutes away in the other direction with plenty of places to eat and the castle to visit. The beautiful Jurassic coast is only a 40 minute drive away and well worth a day trip, you can visit Ringstead Bay, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door for some stunning holiday photos and refreshing dip in the channel!

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Buckland Newton has a fantastic local pub - The Gaggle of Geese. The Gaggle has friendly staff, great food, frequent events and in the summer has an outdoor pizza oven, they even do takeaway. There are various other pubs that can be recommended in nearby villages, some offering food, one or two just being drinking holes. There is a pizzeria in near by Hazelbury Bryan. Hazelbury also has The Antelope Inn which does not do food but you can take your pizzas from the pizzeria and eat them in the pub or beer garden with a pint. On the way to Stalbridge is a lovely cafe called Thyme After Time with everything available being homemade to a very high standard.
