Wander around the lovely rooms stuffed with original family portraits, ornate plasterwork and antique furnishings (we love the room dedicated to 18th century diarist Lady Diana Spencer), have a peek into the beautiful St Marys Church next door with its impressive monuments the St John's Triptych and the Golden Cavalier or explore the 18th century walled garden, the lake, the rolling lawns and woodlands (dotted with snowdrops in winter). In spring, the 17th century tulip varieties produce a rainbow of colour alongside the hyacinths and crown imperials.
