Overview

The grounds and gardens at Longleat cover 900 acres of parkland designed by Capability Brown, as well as formal gardens by George London. The stables and Orangery were designed by renowned architect, Wyatville, and the Secret Garden is the work of Russell Page.

‘Capability' Brown worked at Longleat from 1757 to 1762, and his designs transformed the parkland, with expansive lawns, stunning tree placement and a string of exquisite lakes. He also added the ‘Great Ha-Ha', a pleasure walk and the walled kitchen garden.
