Planted circa 1716 as a 19th century vista, the avenue is the longest line of limes in England. You can take a seat on the specially commissioned arched seating whilst admiring the view back up the avenue, borrow a rug from reception to enjoy a luxury picnic hamper on the lawn or take a seat on the sun-drenched terrace to look out over the avenue. Located just 10 minutes from the historic city centre of Winchester, there is plenty to do and see including the Winchester Cathedral, The Great Hall and Wolesey Castle.
