Each bedroom has been designed by a professional interior designer and each is unique. Bedrooms come with beautiful linens, soft towels, complimentary toiletries, hairdryers, TV, free WiFi access, homemade shortbread and tea & coffee making facilities.

The Royal Burgh of Lauder is a beautiful little town just 3 miles from Carfraemill. It has a wonderful art gallery and coffee shop - the Flat Cat Gallery - as well as an excellent deli and coffee shop - The Spotty Dog. Carfraemill itself has a restaurant and is open for food all day (breakfast, brunch, coffee, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, high tea, dinner, drinks!). However, Lauder also has an outstanding restaurant in the Firebrick Brasserie - winner of many Scottish awards for fine dining. Lauder is also home to the fairy-tale turreted Thirlestane Castle, one of the most spectacular in Scotland.

Lauder also has an outstanding restaurant in the Firebrick Brasserie - it's won quite a number of Scottish awards for fine dining. Further afield, try The Hoebridge at Gattonside or Provender in Melrose, both of which are building fantastic reputations. Soutra Coffee House is 3 miles north of Carfraemill in the Edinburgh direction - it's well known for fantastic views, coffee and mouthwatering homebaking. The Flat Cat Gallery in Lauder serves coffee, cakes and light lunches, while the excellent The Spotty Dog serves wonderful coffee, croissants, home baking, breakfast rolls and light lunches.
