What style of garden is Beningbrough Hall, Gallery & Gardens?
The formal garden was set out in 1716, but was later replaced by large shimmering lawns and specimen trees. Some big replanting has taken place a little more recently, and two private gardens and a protected area are now taking advantage. When the season is perfect, walking through the walled garden and the main border means brushing past some 5,000 lavender plants and an array of flowers, fruits and vegetables.
