Places to visit in or near Portmeirion

The unique village of Portmeirion is a creation of the conservationist and architect Clough William-Ellis. He designed it to prove that developing and building in a beautiful place such as this did not mean spoiling the surrounding area. Based on the Italian town of Portifino it has an array of shops, restaurants, a hotel and miles of nearly empty beaches.
