Hanley is an English city that has merged with five other municipalities in 1910 to form Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. It occupies the space center. Among people who were born is Edward Smith, commander in the merchant navy deemed early twentieth century, died in the sinking of the Titanic in 1912.
