Places to visit in or near Carnoustie

The Scottish town of Carnoustie lies on the east coast and is best known for its golf courses (four in total) The Open championship has been played their on a number of occasions the last being in 2007. It has long been a favorite seaside resort with golden sands and stunning views accross the Tay estuary. Sailing, fishing and windsurfing are popular sports which can be enjoyed in the bay.There are several good hotels and guest houses in the town.
