Overview

Once the home farm to Sibton Park and without doubt the oldest building on the estate, the farmhouse has been faithfully restored and extended using Suffolk materials to create an unusual family homestead. As with all Wilderness properties, the farmhouse is only available on an exclusive-use basis making it the ideal venue for fine parties, special family celebrations and corporate shin-digs. The friendly, knowledgeable and discreet staff members are on hand to ensure an enjoyable and memorable stay.

What is the capacity for The Farmhouse?

There are six en suite bedrooms (including two on the ground floor) each with king-size Hypnos beds and stunning views. The original 17th-century leaded lights and later Georgian windows have been reinstated affording wonderful views across the park to the lake and wider estate. Each of the six bedrooms has its own en-suite wet room with high-quality fittings, powerful showers and all include soft robes and luxury toiletries.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Saxmundham area?

At nearby RSPB Minsmere, There’s plenty to do here for both the novice and the experienced bird watcher. Use the bird watching hides to cover you through any weather, or walk along the nature trail to explore the beautiful forest and wetlands. Visit a working farm on Jimmy's Farm near Ipswich a family-fun day out with plenty for the children to enjoy, fantastic food and great shopping. Take the farm trail to see Jimmy's famous rare breed pigs along with sheep, cows, geese, goats and donkeys. In the stunning Grade I listed gardens in Helmingham Hall you will find harmony and tranquility for keen gardeners. Enjoy the sights and smells of the beautiful trees, the elegant manicured hedges and borders, walk around the garden and bask in the heady scents of the rose garden.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

The Garden of Suffolk has many gastro pubs, restaurants, farm shops and artisans. Nearby, Mains of Yoxford is a family-run restaurant offering several dishes for a relaxed dining weekend. Treat yourself to the Darsham Nurseries Café for a nice breakfast or a Sunday brunch.  The Unruly Pig outside of Woodbridge is a firm favourite gastropub, recently being named Suffolk Pub of the Year.

Reviews

I booked the Manor House for the weekend to celebrate a significant birthday with friends and, unbeknownst to everyone else, pop the question to my other half! All I can say is what an absolutely fantastic place - couldn't have picked better. As you can imagine trying to organise a get together for 23 people, especially when they're spread over a number of different countries, can take a few months but Sion made it very easy and it was all sorted with relaxed efficiency. We chose from the family supper menu for the Friday evening but then put our own menu together with Sion and the chef for a formal black tie dinner on the Saturday evening, including a selection of the in-house canapés. We also had afternoon teas and breakfast served. All the food and service was just excellent! On both evenings we partied away to the early hours in the cellar - having the games room, cinema and other sitting rooms just made it so easy for folks to break out and do different things if they wanted to. All the bed rooms were amazing - fantastic décor, mostly huge and very high levels of cleanliness; the whole place just looking as good in reality as it did on the website. Sion, Yasmin and the staff were always there but at the same time invisible so kept us all feeling welcome and looked after but at no times intruded upon. They were friendly, helpful and just really, really nice. What more can I say other than if you have the opportunity to stay at Sibton Park just go for it!

I spent my 30th birthday here with friends for a 2 day weekend and it was excellent. Sion and his team are amazing and you feel really looked after but not over watched. We laughed at their 'invisible help' The pool was heated for us, afternoon tea played out, help with the TVs when we were hungover. I looked for months for a private hire to rent and this ticked every box - the best place to book for a party by a mile. The best birthday weekend i could have asked for.

It was honestly the perfect weekend. Stunning scenery, organised and efficient staff, great food and comfy beds. Everything was perfect and the staff were extremely attentive. Highly recommend a weekend at Sibton for a large group.
