Thornbridge Lodge is a classic stone built cottage in the village of Great Longstone , set in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Thornbridge Lodge enjoys an position right on the Monsal Trail, evied by all walkers and cyclists who pass by. This allows guests at Thornbridge Lodge to enjoy cycle or walking routes right from your door step. Also ideally located just two miles north of the market town of Bakewell, one mile from the pretty picturesque village of Ashford in the Water and 10 minutes drive away from Chatsworth Estate. The beautifully presented cottage stands in the grounds of the Thornbridge Manor (also available to rent for larger groups) yet affords much privacy with its own entrance, parking enclosed garden and super patio for outdoor dining. This well equipped, stylish and comfortable 4 bedroom lodge (these are two attached dwellings but rented as one large property for up to 10 guests), offers spacious living with lots of character. This family friendly property sleeps a maximum of 8/10 people.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Bakewell area?

• Bakewell Market is held every Monday - wander around the various stalls in the centre of town to pick up a bargain or wander over to the Agricultural Centre to witness the traditional auctioning, of the local farmers livestock.
• Plenty of local pubs in Bakewell Town, whether you want to enjoy good pub food with great local ales or maybe French / Indian or Chinese Cuisine there is plenty to choose from.
• Nearby Stately Homes Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are only a short drive away offering a great day out for all ages experiencing live in a large house and walking around the vast estate.
• Bakewell in is the heart of The Peak District so offers some great walks from all directions, whether it be family friendly walks or for the more adventurous people out there there are some great sights and historic sites to visit

• The Crispin in Great Longstone, serves your traditional pub food, with plenty of local ales. There is a beer garden to enjoy in those warmer months 
• The White Lion, Great Longstone serves Sunday Roasts and great traditional pub food
• The Packhorse Inn, Little Longstone, just a 10 minute walk from the village is a very popular pub.  Known for their outstanding food and great local beers its a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. The pub is not large so if a larger group please ring ahead to book a table.
• The Stables Bar at Monsal Head, overlooking the stunning Monsal Dale with its breathtaking viaduct this is an ideal place to stop to get a refreshing drink or ice cream
• Hassop Station Cafe, situated just off the Monsal Trail if you are out and about walking or its only a few minutes drive in the car.  Offering Breakfasts, lunches, snacks and a great choice of cakes its' a great place to recharge those batteries. A play area for the children is a great addition.
• The Manners Pub, a very popular local pub which serves a fantastic menu with regular specials on offer and  even live bands over the weekend! You receive a warm welcome whether you are eating or just stopping for a liquid refreshment stop.
• The Woodyard, open for lunches and evening meals this is a family friendly venue offering a great menu and cocktails. 
• Bakewell has an abundance of cafes for you to try - too many to mention - but all great!
