Can you suggest any activities or things to do while staying in the Freston area?
Freston is a quaint village on the River Orwell on the Shotley Peninsular, just a few miles south of Ipswich. The Suffolk Food Hall (managed by the owners), a nationally recognised farm shop and restaurant selling the best of Suffolk, is located in the area. Jimmy's Farm, made famous by the BBC, is only a few miles away and is a terrific attraction for the whole family. Around the farm, there are various private roads to explore, as well as a network of guided walks and cycle routes. Enjoy the river by land or by boat, and then reward yourself with a well-deserved drink at Pin Mill's Butt and Oyster pub. The leisure facilities near Alton Water are also within cycling reach.
