Overview

From your patio area at one of two beautifully converted barns at Sambrook Manor Cottages, set in lush grassy fields with cows and sheep grazing outside, see if you can spot the visiting herons and swans or the wild ducks and buzzards. Tucked between Newport and Market Drayton and well positioned to reach Shrewsbury and the Ironbridge, Sambrook welcomes guests to its country idyll to stay at either The Old Shippon, which sleeps 8 – 10 guests, or Churn Cottage, laid out over the ground floor for easy access and accommodating four people. Feel the warmth of underfloor heating and cosy up in the well-furnished interiors featuring exposed beams, fully equipped kitchens and private gardens where you can drink up the sublime rural views.

Reviews

We stayed in The Old Shippen which is the larger of the two self catering properties. Accommodation has been converted from an old farm building and has been done brilliantly. It is clean, comfortable and modern but includes features from the old building. Location is excellent on working farm and in peaceful friendly village with good walks and great surroundings and views from the windows. Whilst we were there the field outside the window was full of sheep and lambs. The owners are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It is great for a family holiday and place to rest with lots to do in and around the surrounding areas. The local pub is also great for food and refreshment and is less than a 10 minute walk from the property.

This time we visited Churn Cottage at Sambrook, the smaller of the 2 cottages. It remains fresh, clean and very comfortable base. It is great for visiting the wonderful countryside around and the delights for all ages that is Ironbridge and the various museums. The hosts are absolutely fantastic and cannot be any more helpful and welcoming. This cottage is also all on one floor and very accessible for disabled. A great break and a wonderful place to relax, highly recommended.

Fantastic week just as go as our first visit in 2013. The cottage is still as fresh and new as it was when we went before and is a real home from home. The owners are still as friendly and helpful as ever. Location is great and convenient for all types of activities, this year we went to Chester Zoo which was easy to get too. The local pub remains a great place to go for good food and drink. A great place to visit.
