Its unique advantage as a place for a well-earned break is that you can cater for yourselves whenever you feel inclined, but when you don’t there’s some of the best food in Shropshire on the menu downstairs – and breakfast too if you wish. Can you suggest any activities or things to do while staying in the Bridgnorth area?
The Pheasant's Rest makes a perfect base for a break in the heart of south Shropshire’s glorious, yet quiet and undiscovered countryside. At the same time it's just 30 minutes from the world-famous Ironbridge Gorge, cradle of the Industrial Revolution.
Perhaps you'll plan to spend a day visiting Ludlow, a quintessential market town and the slow-food capital of England (20 minutes), or just drinking in the stunning views from the Shropshire Hills AONB, This is great walking country, and there are several superb local walks mapped out for you to complement the dozens on offer across south Shropshire.
There are enough museums to enjoy in and around the Ironbridge Gorge to keep you enthralled for a week, and many National Trust and English Heritage properties in the area, from stately homes, to ancient castles, Roman towns and grand estates to roam around. Or why not take a trip on the award-winning Severn Valley Railway before you relax with a wonderful evening at The Pheasant.

There's a mouth-watering range of Rosette-quality dishes on the menu, all created in Head Chef Mark’s kitchen, which reflect his background and passion for imaginative cuisine, as well as stunning examples of popular classics. There’s always delicious fresh fish, straight from the boats in Cornwall.
The Pheasant Sunday Lunch, served through until 4pm, has been hailed the best in Shropshire, and voted one of the best in the country.

The Pheasant's Rest can host up to 4 people in two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom. There is also room for one well-behaved dog to stay.
