Overview

May Cottage is a 5 Star Gold Award Cottage May Cottage is adjacent to one of Stow's most attractive Georgian houses, set back from the road in landscaped gardens. Built of Cotswold stone the cottage has lovely arched Gothic windows which let in the light. As a listed building, it is equipped to a very high standard, with attractive antiques in the large living room and Spode in the limed oak kitchen. The cottage faces an open country but is only within a few minute's walk from the famous market Square.

What is the capacity for May Cottage?

The cottage consists of the outer hall, inner hall, and kitchen with Italian travertine floors and a huge living room, with marble fireplace, for which logs are provided, and French doors to a patio at the back. Leading from the living room is a glass door to a heated conservatory, again with a travertine floor, and double doors to a completely new master bedroom with Queen-sized bed, silk curtains, and new furniture. The en-suite bathroom has under floor heating, separate bath and walk-in power shower. The second bedroom, which also has separate but direct access to the bathroom has twin beds and fitted furniture. All are newly decorated, very light and peaceful, and warmed by central heating. Outside, there are gardens to front and side, with a private BBQ area towards the back. The living room and conservatory open onto a private patio with table and chairs enclosed by pretty Cotswold walls. There is parking for two cars and the cottage is very quiet.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Cheltenham area?

Stow-on-the-Wold is a historic town with a vibrant market area, a landmark in the style of the Cotswold, with fascinating shops, first-class restaurants and brasseries, small coffee shops and ancient pubs, including the oldest inn in England. The most popular towns such as The Slaughters, The Swells, Bourton-on - the-Water and Moreton-in-Marsh the Tuesday Market town, are just a few minutes away from Stow.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Home-made cake and shortbread, with wine and nibbles, are there to greet you, as well as bacon, eggs, bread, butter, fruit juice, tea, coffee, sugar, condiments and herbs. Not only does Stow have a large modern supermarket, for you to stop up with anything you need but it also has excellent delicatessens, a butcher, a bakers and organic shops.

Reviews

The decor in May Cottage is stunning with antique furniture and a very large bedroom. Spotlessly clean and everything provided for our comfort and enjoyment. The standard and quality of furniture and furnishings is exceptional.
