Overview

Liberton Tower with its breathtaking panoramic views of Edinburgh. It is situated just 2.5 miles from the city centre. The Tower has been painstakingly restored to a high modern standard whilst still maintaining the historic, rustic feel of a 15th-century castle, comprised of a Master & Twin bedrooms, Great Hall and modern fitted kitchen and bathroom.

What makes a stay at Liberton Tower Edinburgh unique?

The Castles of Scotland Preservation Trust completed works in 1997 restoring what was hitherto a ruinous shell. Liberton Tower is a unique example of Castellated Tower Houses rarely seen within the environs of Edinburgh. Elevated on the southside of the City of Edinburgh within its own grounds guests are assured of an enthrawling view of the Lothians and the Firth of Forth. With the city centre with arms reach guests can dip in and out of the city during the day and retreat in the evening to the tranquility of the Tower House. Perfect for cosy nights with a glass of whisky and a roaring log fire.

What is the capacity for Liberton Tower Edinburgh?

Occupancy of 4 situated on the uppermost floor with a vaulted ceiling. Comprised of one master suite with a four poster Scottish Oak king-sized bed and one twin room on the 3rd floor.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Edinburgh area?

Edinburgh has an abundance of attractions for the culture vulture from historic castles and residences, art galleries and museums, bustling nightlife as well as plenty of green-filled spaces and gardens, coastal and parkland walks serviced by excellent transport link.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

The Tower is appointed with a modern kitchen with all the essentials that can provide for family entertaining dining on the baronial banquet table within the great hall (cira 1681) For evenings out, the southside has a number of proper real-ale and wine bars many of which are pet-friendly. Towards the city centre café-bars and fine dining experiences are aplenty.

So happy to have found this unique property. Sheep pasture just outside, views of the city, very clean and comfortable. We didn't feel like 21st Century Trespassers and everything we needed to live comfortable was here: 1.5 baths, full kitchen, outlets to charge phones. The arrow slits in the walls provide surprising and welcoming breezes. If I had to live in the 15th Century this is how I'd like to do it. Roderick kindly let us check in early so our daughter could take a horseback riding lesson at Tower Frarm stables across the street. We loved our stay and found the price very reasonable!

Our second visit to Liberton Tower didn't disappoint. We adore the historic building which has been tastefully renovated, once the door is locked and the fire is blazing there's nothing like it. The welcome hamper is a wonderful touch and ensures you won't go hungry for a day or two! Stunning panoramic views over the city and Arthur's seat and a 10min walk to the bus stop straight to the city centre.

We loved our stay at Liberton Tower. We found it very comfortable and well equipped but it still manages to give a feeling of being in a medieval building. Amazing views over Edinburgh and a great base for walking in the Pentlands and wider area. We loved snuggling up in front of the open fire in an evening after a day out walking.
