Overview

Hop Pickers' House is a gorgeous self-catering holiday cottage, a refurbishment of the old traveling hop-pickers' barn accommodation. It's rustic and full of charm, but in a luxurious kind of way. A perfect little spot for a relaxing break or exploring some of the prettiest towns and gardens in the country. And dogs love it at Hop Pickers' House!

What makes a stay at Hop Pickers' House unique?

Hop Pickers' House is surrounded by nine acres of gardens, meadow and woodland. This provides a sense of seclusion and tranquility, as well as a perfect opportunity for a stroll before dinner or a walk with the dog. It has its own brook and geese waddling across the lawn. The cottage is just a few miles from Ludlow, one of the prettiest medieval towns in England - and famous for its food. Hop Pickers' House is perfect for a celebration or special occasion.

What is the capacity for Hop Pickers' House?

Hop Pickers' House can accommodate up to 2 people. Dogs are welcomed (at no additional charge)

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Tenbury Wells area?

Tenbury Wells is a small ancient market town situated on the River Teme. The area is still primarily unspoilt farming country and perfect for walking, cycling or driving. There are good pubs (with local cider and ales), restaurants and independent shops. The Regal is a beautiful art-deco theatre / cinema - and hosts many live shows. Not to be missed! A perfect location to pick up the 'cider route' or 'black and white villages trail' - or visit National Trust properties (Croft Castle, Berrington Hall) and beautiful gardens (Stockton Bury, Hergest Croft).

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Guests are welcomed with local fare, including award-winning home-made jam or marmalade. And if theydon't want to cook on their first night, a local cheese board can be provided. There are a number of excellent pubs and restaurants around Tenbury Wells. The local cider is made from apples grown a few hundred metres from Hop Pickers' House. Ludlow (8 miles away) is famous for its food - with a wide selection of excellent restaurants, cafes and markets - all showcasing local produce. It also hosts one of the country's largest food festivals.

Wow. My wife and I were looking for a nice quiet get away for our mini-moon, a post wedding relaxing break. We hadn't a clue about Tenbury Wells or the area, we were enticed by the cottage and its grounds. Everything in the photos looked right up or street. As we approached Berrington it was clear we had stumbled on somewhere beautiful. The cottage was even better than the photos. Stephen & Steve have thought of everything here. There is nothing that they hadnt thought of. We loved every minute of our stay. My personal highlight was a romantic fire bowl bowl in the garden. Lucy and I had been to the Ludlow Food Centre earlier in the day and stocked up on plenty of local produce in preparation. We were out there for hours until nightfall. S&S had left us plenty of logs and some throws to keep warm. I would recommend a visit to the Ludlow Food Centre by the way if you are into your food. It was heaven! Dont be put off by the rural location...there is so much to see and do. We will absolutely be back as the Hop Pickers Barn now has sentimental value to us and there was so much left for us to discover. Thank you very much the both of you, what a wonderful place you have.
