Three Five Star cottages in a rural location inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to the boundary of the Lake District NP and on the outskirts of the pretty Cumbria village of Ravenstonedale which has two dog friendly pubs with good food. A haven for walkers, cyclists and lovers of scenery and wildlife; Red Squirrels visit the grounds daily.
What makes a stay at Green Barn Cottages unique?
The conversion of the beautiful Victorian stone barn into three top quality cottages was sympathetic to its original character, whilst incorporating modern levels of comfort, insulation and underfloor heating from ground source heat pumps. For an extra cosy touch there are logburners in all cottages.
The interiors retain many of the original timber beams of the barn, providing a real “Wow” factor. Bedrooms, some of which are ensuite, have extra wide beds which can also be arranged as adult twins; guests are provided with bathrobes and slippers, and quality toiletries sourced locally.
Each cottage has its own enclosed space for guests and dogs, there are further shared areas within the grounds, and walks straight onto the fells from the entrance.
What is the capacity for Green Barn Cottages?
Green Barn Cottages has three individual 5* cottages within the barn conversion:
The Byre and The Haystore each sleep 4 in 2 ensuite superking or twin bedrooms, and are “upside down”. Both are suitable for two dogs, maybe more.
The Carthouse sleeps 6 in 3 superking or twin bedrooms; suitable for 3 dogs, maybe more.
Ample parking for each cottage.

Ravenstonedale village, inside the Dales NP, has its own 9-hole golf course and is a favourite spot for walkers to stop for refreshment. There's both easy and strenuous walking and cycling in the area, and it's a short drive to explore further afield in the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District or the North Pennines AONB.
