A wonderful holiday awaits you when you come to stay at the Coachmans Cottage. From the moment we arrived in the picturesque village of Steeple Ashton and were shown around the charming cottage we were excited to be staying for several days. The owner, Penny, was so lovely helping us settle in, showing us around the cottage and giving us interesting ideas and information about the local area and places to visit. Even before we arrived Penny was quick to respond to our emails when booking and had also arranged a reservation for us at the nearby village tavern on our first evening. The Cottage has everything you could need to relax and enjoy your stay from extra comfy beds, fluffy towels, bathrobes to a fully equipped, although compact kitchen and bathroom. There are so many delightful extras included which made this such a homely place to stay; from homemade cake and marmalade, fresh bread, milk, butter and eggs, to useful extras including fully stocked basics of hand soap, cleaning essentials, sewing kit and interesting books and games. Even though our stay was in February the cottage remained cosy and warm throughout and although we didn't need to use them, extra blankets were available and an easy to use electric fire. The cottage has a delightful window seat from which I enjoyed hand writing postcards and watching birds come and go including wrens scurrying around the courtyard for food. Steeple Ashton has a magnificent church and an original village holding cell on the green but is also a great base to visit the many and varied attractions, cities, villages and stunning walks which surround you. We can highly recommend Bath, Caen Locks, Stonehenge, Devizes and Bradford on Avon. A much needed holiday and we are looking forward to returning. Thank you.

This is one of the best cottages we have ever visited and the welcome pack was more than we have ever received anywhere, all the basics for the first day provided. The cottage is immaculate and very comfortable. We agree with all the reviews that the owner, Penny, was very helpful giving us details of places to visit and, more importantly, not to visit. The latter sometimes too late, but useful to know for subsequent visits. The village pub, a proper village local, provided excellent food during the course of our week in the charming village of Steeple Ashton. The locality is a good area for sightseeing with many places worth visiting, including Wells, Frome, Sherborne, Bruton and, if you like touristy places,Bath. For another visit we will try to book for a summer month when there will be opportunities to sit outside in the pretty courtyard garden. Response: Thank you for your review. Not too many guests visit Bruton, but it is interesting that you ventured there. We are happy to pass on our knowledge of this area when asked. We look forward to welcoming you back to Coachmans Cottage one day in the future.

First time I've holidayed in Wiltshire and therefore first time at this cottage. for me and my “girls”, Fleur and Lottie-Lola. I have nothing but praise – everything was perfect and immaculately clean. For somebody who is such a bad sleeper, it was heaven to sleep six nights in a row without waking up – bed and pillows were divine. There is everything you need at this cottage and the hosts, Peter and Penny, were wonderful – there if you needed them but otherwise I was left in my own little idyll. Home-made marmalade and shortbread biscuits were scrummy! Loved Wiltshire and local community – everybody was so friendly. Will definitely return. BTW, Long Arms pub just down the road was also a 10/10. Also, “Sign of the Angel” at Lacock, had a wonderful lunch there and dog friendly. What more could a girl want!

We had a wonderful holiday at Coachman's Cottage with Molly our cocker spaniel. The cottage was in a peaceful location, lovely and warm, well equipped and felt like “home from home”. It was a special treat to have Penny and her mum and dad next door; we had some lovely chats and realised what a small world it is! Steeple Ashton is a delightful village; the village shop and (especially) the local pub were well used. We had lots of trips out and enjoyed Bath, Stonehenge, Bradford-on-Avon, Frome and Corsham (a hidden gem) very much. We hope to revisit soon and explore southern Wiltshire.

A beautifully furnished and very comfortable cottage in a delightful village. It was lovely to come back to after a day out in inclement weather! Penny and her father Peter keep the cottage in immaculate condition and are delightful hosts . The surrounding area has a lot to offer in rain, wind or sun. The walk from Bratton up to the White Horse is well worth the effort. We will be returning. Thank you. Sylvia and Colin

From the moment you enter the gate into the tiny garden, all is pleasing to the senses. This cosy cottage has every comfort and every practical thing you could need is there, and it all works. Kitchen tiny but well-designed, Beautiful bedrooms with dreamy beds. Delighful colour-schemes. Hosts both caring and discreet. They will “go the extra mile for you”.

What a lovely cottage Coachmans Cottage is! We have recently had a holiday there and as soon as we stepped inside we really felt at home. It is spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. Penny and her father, Peter are really friendly and work hard to keep Coachmans cottage to a very high standard. We strongly recommend it. .

Penny gave us a wonderful welcome with brownies, fresh bread and home made marmalade. The cottage is lovely, clean and warm and very well equipped. It was a perfect base to explore Wiltshire and admire the splendour of Salisbury, the beauty of Bath and the ancient ambience of Avebury. Thoroughly recommended.
